Treating Hep C with Ear Acupuncture

  • It is a blood-borne virus transmitted from blood to blood contact esp sharing needles amongst drug users, needlestick injuries.
  • No vaccination against Hep C.
  • 6 Genotypes of Hep C - those most commonly found in the UK are 1A and 3B Genotypes 1 and 4 are more resistant to treatment with Interferon Genotypes 2 and 3 respond better and require shorter treatment Genotypes 5 and 6 are rarely found in the UK
  • Western allopathic treatment involves the use of interferon and ribavirin - It is both expensive and has many side effects
  • Hep C involves a retained pathogen, liver qi stagnation and toxic heat.
  • There are three stages or developments - digestive disorders, stuck phlegm in the liver and yin deficiency
  • The Hep C patient may well have ceased taking drugs and there may well be better compliance.
  • Ear acupuncture lowers liver enzymes and inhibits viral activity for 90 hours (nearly 4 days).
  • The more treatments the more beneficial the effect and the longer the person feels stable and better in their self.
  • It helps to clear pathogenic factors; unblocks stagnant energy allowing the patient to move on both mentally and physically.
  • Rebalances the body energy and strengthen the immune system.
